Kleidung ist heute billig. Damit sie das sein kann, wird auf dem Weg vom Stoff bis ins Regal an jeder Station gespart: am Material, an der Zeit, an den Löhnen. Wer näht, verdient am wenigsten — und wird am wenigsten gesehen.Am Ende steht ein Kleidungsstück, das nach einer Saison ersetzt wird. Das ist kein Versehen, sondern das Geschäftsmodell: Nur was schnell weggeworfen wird, wird schnell neu gekauft.Für diese Reihe arbeite ich mit Leinwandstoff — dem Textil, das sonst nur Träger für Farbe ist. Hier ist es das Werk selbst. Was sonst hinter dem Bild liegt, kommt nach vorn.Das Material begleitet mich seit 2015. Damals entstand die Reihe „elastik“ aus Leinwandstoff, Silikon und Seil; es ging um das Körperinnere. Erst später wurde daraus die Frage nach Arbeit und Wert. Der Stoff war vor dem Thema da.In den Jacken der Wearable Art drehe ich den Weg um: Dort nehme ich ein fertiges Kleidungsstück und gebe ihm einen Wert zurück.

The torso as a starting point, never as a whole. What remains is a fragment—shoulder, hip, the beginning of a movement. The surface determines what becomes visible and what does not. The works are created in layers of ink, acrylic, and pigment. No work depicts a specific person. What emerges is a figure that cannot be identified and yet is recognizable.

Pours emerge organically. I determine the direction, the quantity, the moment of tipping—what happens after that is left to gravity. The paint finds its way across the surface, flows, pools, and breaks apart. The appeal lies in this shared authorship. I can prepare a pour, but I cannot draw it. What emerges is unique and never the same again.

These works are conceived three-dimensionally, even though they hang on the wall. Materials with a history: wood, bone, fabric, gold leaf. Nothing is neutral; each piece carries its origin. The body appears here not as a figure, but as a residue—as an outline, a shell, an imprint. What looks hard appears soft; what is soft bears weight. The most recent works in the series, "Susanna" and "Atado," will be exhibited at the Venice International Art Fair in 2026.

Ein Stück soll austauschbar sein, damit man das nächste kauft. Ich arbeite mit Kleidung aus zweiter Hand ebenso wie mit neuwertiger Ware und werte sie durch meine Kunst zum Unikat auf.Jede Jacke wird von Hand bemalt und existiert genau einmal. Aus einem beliebigen Stück wird eines, das man behält. Das ist kein Recycling im ökologischen Sinn, sondern eine Wertentscheidung: Ich gebe einem Gegenstand die Einmaligkeit zurück, die ihm die Produktionskette genommen hat.Und die Trägerin trägt sichtbar, dass jemand daran gearbeitet hat.
